The hybrid ESZ7209 (ES Runway) is a double-cross maize hybrid of the mid-early maturity group (FAO 240). Plants are of medium height; the grain is of the dent type. At the beginning of the growing season, the hybrid demonstrates a medium level of early growth vigor, and after grain maturity, the leaves remain partially green.
The hybrid is characterized by a high grain yield potential with a medium share of grain in the cob mass. Resistance to lodging is estimated as medium. Regarding diseases, the hybrid has medium resistance to Fusarium ear and stalk rot, as well as ear smut, with a rather high resistance to stalk smut. Resistance to the European corn borer is characterized as medium.
