The H 108 line was developed at the Maize Research Institute in the town of Kneja. During its development, induced mutagenesis methods using chemical mutagens were applied in breeding work to form genetic diversity.
This material is used in breeding programs as a parental component. The line features in experiments to create test-crosses to evaluate combining ability and improve the yield of future hybrids.
Research on the characteristics of the line is conducted primarily to determine the influence of weather conditions on thousand kernel weight, test weight, and germination energy during the seed production process.
