The Kneja 590 maize hybrid was obtained by crossing lines K 4640A and H-108. Mutagenesis methods were used in the variety development, including treatment of embryos with colchicine at a concentration of 0.05%.
This hybrid belongs to the mid-late maturity group, corresponding to code 500. The crop is intended for use for both grain and silage.
