KWS 459 is a tall plant with cylindrical ears that are well covered by husks. The hybrid grain is of the dent type, has a yellow color, and is distinguished by rapid moisture release.

The hybrid possesses resistance to drought, lodging, and stalk breakage. The potential grain yield is 13–15 t/ha, silage mass yield is 50–60 t/ha.
