The hybrid Kws Lio belongs to the mid-early maturity group with FAO 190. The plant reaches a height of 280–330 cm and forms ears with 14–16 rows of flint-dent grain.
The variety possesses high cold tolerance and develops intensively during the initial growth stages. It is resistant to stalk breakage when infested by the European corn borer, as well as to common smut and head smut.
The grain yield is approximately 79.9%. The grain contains 69.04% starch and 9.84% protein.
