The Lh287 line is a yellow dent maize obtained by the pedigree breeding method based on a simple cross of lines LH212Ht and LH185. It is characterized by good stalk and root system quality, resistance to diseases and European corn borer, as well as the ability to maintain plant integrity and green color until late stages of development.
The plant possesses a pronounced ability for pollination and ear formation. In breeding work, this line is used as a parental form or a component of the genetic background for creating high-yielding and transgenic hybrids, and also acts as a control sample when assessing the safety of varieties.
