The hybrid Lothar (FAO 210–230) is grown for grain and silage, characterized by a high starch content in the silage mass. The plant reaches a height of about 250 cm with the ear attached at the 100 cm level. The grain has a flint-dent shape, the ear forms 14 rows with 32–34 grains each.
The plant possesses high early vigor and good lodging resistance. The hybrid exhibits resistance to common smut, Fusarium, and Helminthosporium.
