The MAS 44CR hybrid belongs to the FAO 350 maturity group. In official crop catalogs, it is classified as a hybrid for grain or universal use, however, its current status in registers has been changed to excluded.
The current hybrid MAS 44.A is mid-maturing with FAO 380 and universal use for cultivation for grain and silage. The plant is characterized by high growth, dent grain type with 14–16 rows per ear, and a thousand kernel weight of 340–360 g.
MAS 44.A possesses high lodging resistance, good drought tolerance, and tolerance to common smut and head smut, stalk and ear fusariosis, as well as helminthosporiosis. The features of the hybrid are a powerful root system, good early growth, and the Stay Green effect.
