The Novania variety is a hybrid with a maturity index of FAO 310. In the scientific community, it is widely used in laboratory experiments, including in vitro methods, to study root morphogenesis and cell wall development.

The plant is used as an object for analyzing physiological reactions to the impact of heavy metals, such as cadmium, zinc, and arsenic, as well as for researching the influence of silicon on growth and antioxidant activity under salt stress conditions.
