The line was obtained in 2004 as a result of breeding crosses. It is an inbred yellow maize line and serves as an intermediate component for the development of hybrids, rather than a variety for commercial sowing.
The application of the line is aimed at improving breeding characteristics, in particular, in studies of resistance to Colletotrichum graminicola. Detailed morphological parameters of the line are not disclosed, as it is a proprietary component of the breeding process.
