The line is a breeding material obtained through repeated self-pollination and selection to fix specific traits. It is not intended for direct use in commercial sowing and is used primarily to produce hybrids, such as the PH55C/PH1WO combination.
Hybrids created using this line are characterized by increased resistance to root lodging and stalk breakage. Also noted are the prolonged retention of green leaf color at the end of the growing season, reduced grain moisture at harvest, and high grain test weight.
