The line was developed based on a cross between lines CM7 and 051. The plant is characterized as being very short, with weak ear strength, and may experience difficulties during cultivation in certain climatic conditions.
The plant is resistant to bacterial wilt and ear rot (Gibberella zeae), and moderately resistant to northern leaf spot (H. carbonum). It is susceptible to northern corn leaf blight (E. turcicum), eyespot, Fusarium ear rot (F. moniliforme), and European corn borer damage.
