ActiveZea mays L. · Maize
Pioneer Overseas Cor, USA
10 August 2026
The hybrid's vegetation period is 100–103 days. The plant reaches a height of 1.8–2.1 meters, forms a strong single stem, wide dark green leaves, and one large ear. The grain has a bright orange color, the size is about 47 grains per 10 grams.
The variety possesses high resistance to common rust, northern corn leaf blight, and gray leaf spot, as well as intermediate resistance to Goss's wilt. Strong stems provide good resistance to lodging.
The hybrid is intended for the production of mushroom-type popcorn; when popped, about 80% of the grains expand in the form of balls or mushrooms, which is convenient for glaze application. The variety was previously known as Carmel Crisp.
The variety is listed in the national registry — its seeds are authorized for sale in this country.
