The maize hybrid SY Castaneda is used for both grain and fodder purposes. In the course of scientific research, the variety was compared with other maize hybrids in terms of parameters such as plant height, stem diameter, ear weight, dry matter yield, and grain yield.
The plant height and stem diameter indices of the hybrid are statistically similar to the results of other tested varieties, such as PR91G98 and SY Tuscani. Detailed characteristics of the maturity group, disease resistance, and lodging resistance are not presented in the publications.
