The variety SAKZIN017 (commercial name Profusion Cherry Bicolor) is a stabilized amphidiploid obtained by crossing Zinnia angustifolia and Zinnia violacea. The plant is characterized by a dwarf growth type and reaches a height of about 40 cm.
The plant has a semi-spherical shape due to intensive branching from the base and forms single flowers. The variety exhibits high resistance to powdery mildew, Alternaria blight, bacterial leaf spot, and heat.
The variety is suitable for cultivation in the open field in flower beds, in containers, and for use as cut flowers. In breeding practice, it is used as a reference sample when describing petal color traits.
