Alpha Orchids Breeding
10 August 2026
The name Kiwi denotes a series of orchid hybrids developed primarily by Australian breeders. Plants of this group are the result of multi-stage hybridization aimed at creating ornamental specimens for indoor cultivation.
The morphological characteristics of the series vary; however, in general, the plants are distinguished by their compactness with flower stalk heights of up to 20–30 cm. The flowers often have a spotted or striped coloration with a characteristic purple lip. The series is valued for its pronounced fragrance and the possibility of forming several flower stalks on one plant during the year.
