To ensure proper aeration of the Anthurium andraeanum root system, substrates based on coniferous bark, coconut fiber, charcoal, and perlite are used. The use of traditional soil mixes and oversized pots leads to substrate acidification and the death of epiphytic roots; therefore, shallow containers with effective drainage are preferred.

In commercial cultivation, it is common practice to plant two seedlings in a single container to create a decorative bush. An important condition is maintaining air humidity at a level of 70–80% with a shading intensity of 70–75%, which prevents leaf scorch and excessive leaching of nutrients.
