Gerbera productivity represents the genetically determined potential of a cultivar, expressed as the number of marketable flower stalks obtained per 1 m² of protected ground area over a specific time interval.

To evaluate gerbera productivity, a methodology of counting marketable stalks per unit area is used, which is a key economic indicator in production planning. Scientific research and cultivar trials examine this parameter in correlation with biometric data, such as flower stalk height, inflorescence diameter, as well as quality and earliness indices.

The final output is significantly influenced by the choice of substrate, where the highest results are recorded on coconut fiber compared to peat-based mixes. Technologically, high productivity is achieved through precise microclimate management: maintaining temperature regimes within 22–25°C during the day and 12–16°C at night, as well as using forced ventilation to ensure a stable marketable flower yield.
