Deviations in the content of key components alter the organoleptic characteristics of the oil, making the profile sharper or mintier. The level of aromatic compounds directly depends on the plant's development phase; therefore, raw material harvesting is conducted primarily during the period of mass flowering.

Technological cultivation parameters, including drying regimes, are adapted to prevent the loss of esters and alcohols that are sensitive to thermal exposure. Variety selection in the industrial cycle is strictly limited by the genetically fixed chemical composition, which determines the unique essential oil profile of a specific chemotype.
