The variety was obtained in 2005 as a result of a controlled cross. The plant is capable of forming an excessive number of flowers even in regions with warm winters, therefore careful fruit load management is required to obtain a high-quality yield.

The Bruno variety is typically used as a rootstock for this variety, however, it is compatible with rootstocks used for standard varieties such as Hayward. The variety is aimed at consumer demand for fruits with an unusual red flesh color and high taste qualities.
