The variety was obtained through selection of local ecotypes adapted to high-altitude conditions at elevations from 1600 to 1900 meters above sea level. The plant is distinguished by a slow growth rate, low stature, and the ability to tolerate shading well.
The variety forms a very dense stand and exhibits high tolerance to low mowing, which allows it to be used for creating high-quality ornamental lawns and surfaces for golf courses. It is also used in specialized seed mixtures for landscaping and restoration of grass cover in harsh climatic conditions.
