The variety is used in physiological experiments related to the analysis of the influence of temperature and carbon dioxide concentration on ripening periods and bulb formation. Studies record the dependence of the vegetation rate on the temperature regime, in particular, the shortening of the ripening period with an increase in temperature.

In scientific literature, the variety is mentioned in the context of the analysis of cell wall carbohydrate composition and antioxidant properties of the produce. The materials also contain data on the study of the susceptibility of this onion to field diseases, such as bacterial soft rot and certain types of storage rots.
