The Red Comet variety is mentioned in publications dedicated to agronomic trials, in particular in studies conducted in Kenya and Honduras, and also appears in lists of experimental lines of the Royal Sluis company.
During the studies, low resistance of this variety to damage by onion thrips (Thrips tabaci) was revealed, which causes high crop losses. Other morphological and economic characteristics are absent in the sources.
