The Sakanal variety is adapted to the climatic conditions of the Sahel region; in particular, it is found in agrotechnical studies in Senegal and Nigeria. In some customs documents, India is indicated as its country of origin.
In field experiments, plant height varied from 62 to 71 cm, and bulbyield reached 70 t/ha. Studies confirm the possibility of the influence of agrotechnical practices, such as fertilization, on the quality and keeping quality of the produce.
