The variety originates from the Wädenswil region in Switzerland and is a local traditional type suitable for home gardening. Medium-sized bulbs have a flat-round or round shape with firm scales and possess a sharp, spicy taste. Plants reach a height of 30–50 cm at the time of harvest.
The variety belongs to early-maturing types; harvesting is carried out from July to September. The bulbs are distinguished by good storage capacity and are suitable for braiding. Depending on the line or selection, the variety may be represented by both yellow and red varieties.
