The Olympian variety is registered in the list of onion varieties in the European Commission documentation. In a number of scientific papers, particularly in studies conducted in Ethiopia, this hybrid is mentioned as a cultivar suitable for farm cultivation with yields comparable to other well-known varieties.
Detailed morphological traits, such as bulb shape or plant height, as well as economic characteristics, including maturity group and disease resistance, are absent in agronomic reference books and registers of breeding achievements available to a wide range of gardeners.
