The blanched portion of the stem reaches 22–25 cm in length with a diameter of 5–7 cm. The variety is distinguished by high frost resistance, the ability to overwinter in the ground, disease resistance, and good keeping quality. Hilling is required to obtain a high-quality harvest.
The variety has a universal use, including fresh consumption, processing, and long-term storage. In literature, it may be found under the names Giant Musselburgh or Flag Leek.
