The plant has upright stems 50 to 105 cm in height. The flowers are golden-yellow in shade, decorated with orange-red veins and markings on the petals. The flowering period lasts from June to September.
The variety forms dense clumps and spreads slowly. It possesses winter hardiness (USDA zone 6, possibly down to 5) and increased resistance to heat and drought compared to other members of the genus. It prefers well-drained soils and illuminated areas or light partial shade.
