The ATEMOYA ROJA atemoya variety is also known under the trade name "Red Israel". The plant is characterized by vigorous growth, a requirement for solar lighting, and the need to grow in fertile, well-drained soils. It is sensitive to severe frosts.

A separate breeding project under the name ATEMOYA ROJA, conducted in the Spanish region of Granada, is notable for its fruit maturation period, which begins in spring. This variety possesses adaptation to conditions with limited water supply and the characteristic red skin color of the fruits.
