The variety is a perennial herbaceous plant, which is often identified as New York aster. The flowers of the variety are characterized by their large size and blue coloration of all perianth lobes.
The height of the plant is usually 90–100 cm, although historical data mention hybrid forms reaching 145 cm. The variety is intended for ornamental use and demonstrates good adaptability and flowering productivity in botanical collections.
