Variety description

10 August 2026

Callistephus chinensis variety Blue Moon is an annual plant used in ornamental gardening for landscaping flower beds and borders, as well as for cut flowers. A characteristic feature of its appearance is the pompon shape of the inflorescences with a contrasting combination of a blue-violet center and a white fringe along the edge.

The name Blue Moon is also found in the category of professional cut-flower asters and other ornamental crops, such as wisteria or perennial asters, which creates confusion in commercial catalogs. The variety offered in amateur seeds has no confirmed connection to professional breeding programs of industrial flower producers.
