The variety is an awnless plant of medium height, reaching 91–94 cm in the conditions of the Leningrad region. The panicle is spreading, about 16.5 cm long, containing an average of 52 grains. The variety has a strong straw and does not shatter upon ripening.
The grain is characterized by uniformity and large size; the thousand kernel weight is 44–51 g with a hull content of 28–30%. The protein content in the groat reaches 17.6%. The variety is classified as moderately resistant to Fusarium and is often used as a standard in scientific research.
The plant is intended for grain production and use as a forage crop, including sowing in mixtures. It is also used as a green manure to improve soil structure.
