Oat variety Boryna was bred at the Borów breeding station. The origin of the variety is based on a complex crossing scheme including the lines Rodney, Astor, Flamingsweiss II and Dula.

The variety is characterized by stable yield. In comparative trials of recent years, Boryna oats are evaluated based on plant height, lodging resistance and disease resistance, including rust and helminthosporiosis.
