The spring common oat variety Boruta is a Polish breeding development. In documentation, the variety is registered under the breeding designation BOA 179.

In scientific publications dedicated to the genetic diversity of Polish varieties, Boruta is classified as a variety that does not have the German component Markische Landsorte in its pedigree. The variety is mentioned in specialized studies aimed at identifying resistance genes to powdery mildew Blumeria graminis f. sp. avenae.
