The oat variety Nip was cultivated from 1955 to 1975. Information about the variety is recorded in Swedish agricultural publications, as well as in crop trial reports in the USA.
During agronomic trials, the Nip variety was used to evaluate dry matter forage mass production. According to the results of comparative tests, the variety yielded less than such varieties as Victory, Ceal, Toral, and Golden Rain. Detailed morphological characteristics of the plant are absent in available publications.
