The variety is a husked spring oat with an erect juvenile growth habit. The plant has a stem of medium thickness that is white in color. Pubescence of the lower leaf sheaths and leaf blades is absent or very weak. Leaves in the tillering stage are covered with a weak waxy bloom, and flag leaves have a medium frequency of drooping or curvature.
The grain of the variety contains β-D-glucans, which makes it a subject of scientific research into product quality. The variety is also used in breeding as genetic material for developing new varieties, including research into resistance to various diseases, such as rust.
