The variety is specialized and intended primarily for use as green manure. Its main purpose is to suppress populations of root lesion nematodes, including Pratylenchus penetrans and cereal cyst nematodes Heterodera avenae, while the variety does not promote the reproduction of nematodes of the genus Trichodorus.
Plants have medium stem height and medium lodging resistance. The variety is characterized as a biomass supplier, suitable for use as green fodder, silage, or for improving soil structure. A high content of crude protein and medium resistance to powdery mildew are noted.
This is a primitive form of oat, differing from common oat in the structure of the spikelet and caryopsis. The variety is suitable for cultivation as a summer intermediate crop and is not intended for cultivation for commercial grain.
