The Ballerina variety was introduced in the mid-1990s as material with resistance to rhizomania. During variety trials of that period, the yield of the variety was 4–5% lower than the control samples, which corresponded to the breeding characteristics for this resistance group.
At present, the variety is not relevant for commercial cultivation and is absent from modern official agricultural crop catalogs, often appearing in archival lists as discontinued material.
