The variety Donna refers to sugar beet intended for industrial cultivation for the purpose of sugar production. In official variety lists of the early 2000s, it is classified as a hybrid; it is also encountered under the name Stru Ho.

In agronomic trials, the variety was used for the comparative evaluation of yield and root quality. Under conditions of high infectious pressure, the variety exhibits susceptibility to the viral disease rhizomania, for which reason it was used in a number of studies as a susceptible control.
