The variety is polyploid and was historically intended for use in the sugar industry. In literature, it is mentioned as a subject for agricultural experiments, including studies on the effect of microfertilizers on plant growth.

A distinctive morphological feature of the variety is a tendency for the root to be positioned high above the soil level, which facilitated the harvesting process but created a risk of root displacement during the growing season. Resistance to premature flowering (bolting) is rated as medium or insufficient.
