Sugar beet hybrid Pottok, also known by the breeding number HI1439, is intended for industrial cultivation. During field trials, root yield values were recorded from 85.71 to 98.10 t/ha with a sugar content of 16.61% to 18.54% and a sugar yield of 11.32 t/ha.
In studies evaluating resistance to pathogens, this hybrid was noted as susceptible to infection by leaf spot caused by the fungus Cercospora beticola.
