The variety is a highly branched herbaceous plant with feathery, deeply dissected foliage resembling a fern, and bright yellow flower heads. In literature, it may be referred to as Peter's Goldteppich.

Plants of this species reach a height of 15 to 50 cm and are capable of spreading up to 30–90 cm in width, forming dense clumps or trailing forms. The variety is characterized by drought tolerance and suitability for cultivation in containers, hanging baskets, or as a groundcover plant.
