The winter rapeseed variety Maximus (sometimes Maximus VA 75) is a tall-growing plant. During the 1996–1997 testing period, it demonstrated a high yield of seeds, oil, and protein compared to the Express variety.
The seed quality of the variety falls into the category with low erucic acid and glucosinolate content of about 12 µmol/g. It is important to note that the name Maximus is also used for a modern line of semi-dwarf hybrids from the Pioneer brand, which have a different origin.
