The variety is classified as canola with a low erucic acid and glucosinolate content. In scientific literature, it is used as a model sample for studying genetic diversity and mapping resistance genes to phoma stem canker, caused by Leptosphaeria maculans, specifically the Rlm1 and Rlm3 genes.

For experimental purposes, the variety was considered for dual-purpose use, combining livestock grazing and subsequent grain harvest. The variety is not a modern commercial standard and is most often mentioned in the context of breeding research.
