The variety Pyro is classified in German variety lists as stubble turnip (Brassica rapa L., subspecies rapa). There is no data in public publications on this variety as a representative of winter or spring rapeseed (Brassica napus).
The inclusion of the variety in the general catalogs of the German Federal Plant Variety Office alongside winter rapeseed is due to the fact that both crops belong to the Brassicaceae family. The confusion in the sources is connected with the fact that the breeding company NPZ is a major rapeseed producer, but the Pyro variety is assigned to a separate category of catch crops.
