The variety belongs to the winter rapeseed group. In scientific practice, it is often used as a reference genome for conducting genomic research. In field trials conducted in the 1990s, the presence of an average of 6.95 lateral branches per plant was noted.
In phytopathological literature, the variety is widely known as an object for studying interactions with disease pathogens. It often acts as a reference or susceptible sample when testing the pathogenicity of the fungus Leptosphaeria maculans, which causes blackleg (phoma stem canker), as well as when evaluating resistance to the fungus Verticillium longisporum.
