The hybrid forms dense, smooth heads that are elevated high above the soil level, which simplifies the harvesting process. The plant possesses a vigorous, upright rosette with thick leaves that provide excellent internal protection for the head.

Lestren F1 is characterized by the ability to maintain marketable quality for an extended period under field conditions. Tolerance to the formation of small bumps or fine granularity on the inflorescences, known as "ricing," has also been noted.
