This variety is not a bred cultivar but belongs to a group of local cabbages known collectively as Col borratxona. Within this group, various forms are distinguished, such as borratxó petit, borratxona grossa, and borratxó de set setmanes.
The plant is adapted to the local conditions of Mallorca and is subject to genetic resource conservation programs. Detailed agronomic characteristics, such as precise maturity dates, disease resistance, or morphological parameters, are absent from open sources as the crop is not a standardized commercial variety.
