The S. Michele 0208 variety, also known by the name Violaceo di Verona, is a traditional variety. The plant forms large, dense heads consisting of tender, slightly wavy, green-purple leaves.
The variety possesses cold tolerance, which allows it to be used for harvest in the autumn-winter period. Agricultural practices include sowing for seedlings from May to July, transplanting into open field in August, and harvesting starting from October.
