The variety belongs to the category of folk selection and traditional types known since the beginning of the XX century. The name indicates the semi-dwarf type of the plant, the height of which usually reaches 60–70 cm.
The plant is distinguished by high endurance and adaptability to cold conditions. The sprouts form dense and firm. Due to the physical characteristics of the variety, hilling or the installation of supports may be required during cultivation to maintain the vertical position of the stem.
